Lesson 4: ¿Cuántos hay?

Our lesson last week was on finding out how many there are of objects. To reinforce this lesson with your kids practice counting and using the phrase provided in the vocab section!

Lesson Objective:
Students count to ten (and above for older kids) and provide information about how many there are of a given number of objects.

Your kids should be able to comprehend the question "¿Cuántos hay?" and respond accordingly with "Hay_____." And be able to count at least to ten in Spanish... older students like 3's and preschool should be able to get up to 20! If not please reinforce that!

Vocabulario:

¿Cuántos hay? (How many are there?)
Hay________. (There are ____.)

Ejemplo:

¿Cuántos dedos hay? (how many fingers are there?)
Hay diez dedos. (there are 10 fingers)

Uno dos tres cuatro cinco seis siete ocho nueve diez
Once doce trece catorce quince dieciséis diecisiete dieciocho diecinueve veinte
Treinta cuarenta cincuenta sesenta setenta ochenta noventa cien!

Practice Practice at home!! Every bit helps!! Don't worry if you don't sound perfect... you are still helping reinforce what they learn.... Remember not to ask for English to Spanish translation... try to make the language meaningful... by counting objects in Spanish... or by pointing to colors and saying the color in Spanish...!!!

Thanks,
Ms. Jessie!
