A Resumir.

Holy Guacamole it has been ages since a post!! So sorry!! Let's recap... (uh oh..always recapping..) this reminds me of my diaries from back in my middle school days... almost every entry begins with me apologizing to my diary saying "sorry diary I haven't written in so long but let me catch up... let me fill you in on the past month...etc etc" haha... who knew I'd never change!

Well, let's go back to my last post... the 9th of June so hard to believe... so neglectful... well I believe June rounded out with our animal themes... sea creatures I believe with intermittent farm animals. Every class loves our Un Pulpito song... we still continue to sing it even now... they love the "oh no fue comido por..." the parts where we say oh no and who got eaten by who... a cute song about the food chain... quite fun!!

There was another song that stuck... tres pececitos... it's about three little fish who go swimming and a shark tries to get one of them to "ven ven ven ven para aca" but they say "no no no no noo no no no no nooo porque se enoja mi mama" ... no no no because my mom will get angryyy!! Ha... so if you have noticed a bit of finger pointing and no no no no saying I might have something to do with it... but it's a cute catchy song and they enjoy it!

I hope everyone enjoyed their week vacations... hmm I know it was a vacation for us... but I'm not entirely sure if any families did indeed decide to vacation over our 4th of July break... if not I'm sure watching some sort of fireworks was fun and wearing festive colors! I ate plenty of brats over the break and spent some quality time with the familia in Wisconsin. It was quite wonderful!

I was sick all week the week before the break... so it seemed as if I was gone for an eternity.. a sick week then a vacation week.. I was so nervous coming back I though that everyone was going to have forgotten everything.... but boy was I wrong... a part of me almost seems that they remembered things better than even from one day to the next. Perhaps I'm exaggerating or maybe there is actual truth to a break. However, I know with Ms. Jess in the rainbow room... they include Spanish in their morning circle times.. which truly helps reinforce what I do with them. I really appreciate that... and I know that a lot of parents are working at home which is probably why... everyone Spanish seems to be improving.

Also being away for two whole weeks, I came back to so many surprises it is as though in classrooms like the hummingbirds, daisys and caterpillars... it seems like some of the kids grew so much in two weeks!!! I came back to more talking and I swear even taller babies!! Crazy how fast everyone grows!!

July's themes have been so fun... we did a team spirit week last week... tropical beach/ Hawaiian theme the week before... it was so fun to see everyone in hula skirts... and the following week supporting their sports teams (which I'm sure greatly reflect Dad's favorites......) There were no Wisconsin t-shirts! Oh actually wait Ms. S. had her UW hockey shirt on phew!! There are more of us... you can feel so overwhelmed in Chicago.. so many competing big tenners... Michigan... I saw some Ohio.... boy oh boy... where is the love? It was fun seeing classroom pride on last Friday... and I look forward to seeing some Mardi Gras masks around the center this week!

Will chat about Spanish Specific things in next post... I think that this one is getting a bit too long!
